VTCT (ITEC) Level 2

The main aim of the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Manicure and Pedicure is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide manicure and pedicure treatments to the general public and to gain employment in the beauty therapy industry. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 2. It also provides a sound platform into further training at level 2 and 3.

  • • Care of the hands and feet – to include nail care, exfoliation, massage and nail painting.

    The learner will also learn about related health and safety and client care and communication which is essential in order to work and be successful in the industry.

    This qualification also provides:

    • The related knowledge and understanding required to perform the manicure and pedicure skills listed above effectively in particular the anatomy and physiology of the skin and nails and common diseases and disorders that may affect when a client should or should not receive treatment.

    • Opportunities for learners to focus on the development of their wider skills in a manicure and pedicure setting, such as communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving.

    • Opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a manicurist/pedicurist.

  • To be awarded the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Manicure and Pedicure, learners must achieve the mandatory units.

    The minimum GLH required to achieve this qualification is 50.

    The minimum TQT required to achieve this qualification is 140.

    Once you complete your exams, you will receive a certificate from Blow Academy Institute of Hair & Beauty and ITEC. These prestigious accreditations are nationally and internationally recognised, making them highly sought after in the hairdressing & beauty industry.

  • Once learners have achieved the VTCT (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate in Manicure and Pedicure they may progress on to the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology or equivalent qualifications at Level 3 or 4.

  • To be awarded this qualification, learners must successfully achieve the following assessments:

    • External practical examination

    • External theory examination

    • Portfolio of evidence containing: Treatment evidence

  • To secure your place at Blow Academy, a deposit is required. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. The full course fee must be paid no later than two weeks before the course start date. Once paid, course fees are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend, a credit note will be issued, allowing you to reschedule your booking for a future date.  

    If Blow Academy cancels your course, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to reschedule for another available date.  

    Minimum Enrollment Requirement
    The course requires a minimum number of enrolled students to proceed.  

    Course Postponement
    If the minimum enrollment requirement is not met, the course may be postponed to a later date. Students will be notified of any schedule changes as soon as possible.  

    Reservation of Rights
    Blow Academy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course due to unforeseen circumstances or factors beyond our control. In such cases, every effort will be made to accommodate students' schedules and preferences.  

    Communication 
    All communications regarding course enrollment, schedule changes, and refunds will be conducted via email or other designated communication channels. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their contact information is accurate and up to date.
