  • Day 1: Hairdressing Foundations

    Session 1: Introduction to Hairdressing

    • Role of a hairdresser

    • Different career paths in the industry

    • Salon setup (equipment, zones, hygiene practices)

    • Personal presentation and salon etiquette

    Session 2: Hair Theory & Scalp Knowledge

    • Structure of the hair and scalp

    • Hair types, textures, and conditions

    • Introduction to common hair issues

    • Shampooing and conditioning theory

    Session 3: Practical – Hair Washing & Scalp Massage

    • Client consultation basics

    • Step-by-step shampoo and conditioning techniques

    • Scalp massage demo and practice

    • Hygiene and safety

    Session 4: Product Knowledge

    • Types of hair products (cleansing, styling, finishing)

    • Choosing products for different hair types

    • Practical exercise: identify and match products to client needs

    Day 2: Tools, Styling & Professionalism

    Session 5: Hairdressing Tools & Sectioning

    • Combs, brushes, clips, scissors – what they do and how to use them

    • Proper tool care and sanitation

    • Basic sectioning techniques (demonstration + practice)

    Session 6: Blow-Drying and Finishing Techniques

    • Holding and positioning tools

    • Creating volume, straight, and curl finishes

    • Styling for different hair types

    • Hands-on practice with mannequins or models

    Session 7: Client Consultation and Communication

    • Greeting clients and building rapport

    • Asking the right questions

    • Understanding client expectations

    Wrap-Up, Assessment & Certification

    • Feedback and reflection

    • Q&A: How to get started in hairdressing

    • Award of Completion awarded

    • Information on further training, course, or traineeships etc.

  • No prior experience is necessary for this course; however, we do request that you possess a strong interest in hairdressing with the intention of either continuing your career or enhancing your skills to advance in the industry.

  • To secure your place at Blow Academy, a deposit is required. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. The full course fee must be paid no later than two weeks before the course start date. Once paid, course fees are non-refundable. However, if you are unable to attend, a credit note will be issued, allowing you to reschedule your booking for a future date.  

    If Blow Academy cancels your course, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the option to reschedule for another available date.  

    Minimum Enrollment Requirement
    The course requires a minimum number of enrolled students to proceed.  

    Course Postponement
    If the minimum enrollment requirement is not met, the course may be postponed to a later date. Students will be notified of any schedule changes as soon as possible.
