The main aim of the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 3 Award in Indian Head Massage is to enable learners to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge in order to provide Indian head massage to the general public and to gain employment in the spa and beauty industry. The qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 3. It also provides a sound platform into further learning at levels 3 and 4.

  • The main skill the learner will perform is: 

    • Indian head massage – to include the use of techniques such as classical Indian head massage movements, massage mediums and adapting the treatment to meet the clients’ specific treatment needs.

    The learner will also develop knowledge about client care and communication which is essential in order to work and be successful in the industry.

  • To be awarded the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 3 Award in Indian Head Massage, learners must achieve the mandatory unit.

    Once you complete your exams, you will receive a diploma from Blow Academy Institute of Hair & Beauty and ITEC. These prestigious accreditations are nationally and internationally recognised, making them highly sought after in the hairdressing & beauty industry.

  • There are opportunities for an Indian head massage practitioner to find employment in a variety of areas: 

    • Beauty salon 

    • Spa 

    • Hotel or resort

    • Own business

    • Cruise ships

  • Once learners have achieved the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Award in Indian Head Massage they may progress on to other VTCT (ITEC) or equivalent qualifications at levels 3 and 4

  • Applicants may be required to complete an interview and/or other form of assessment to successfully complete their registration on their chosen course.

  • All treatment evidence, internal assessments, and underpinning knowledge must be completed before the final practical examination. The final external practical examination will be carried out by the external examiner at the end of the period of learning. The external examiner will also verify a sample of the treatment evidence and internal assessment.
